We at The Beyond Radio Network, pursuant to our policies of transparency, would like to announce that TBRN’s ownership structure has changed.
- I, Nick Giannak III, am the new, primary owner of TBRN.
- Derek Lane is the secondary owner of TBRN.
- Andre Louis, the original founder, is now the owner emeritus. He no longer owns or pays for any TBRN-related assets, which are now completely Decoupled from any of Andre’s various web presences.
On behalf of the broadcasters of TBRN, I would like to thank Andre for his time and dedication to the project over the past 14 years. Andre, throughout the many changes this station has made, has been the public face of this project through its many different phases. His initial vision in January 2005 was prescient, so much so that it has been the subject of imitation attempts throughout the internet radio community, almost all of which have either disappeared outright or been subsumed by TBRN itself. When many others would’ve thrown in the towel after various low points, Andre kept it going, buying time for changes to happen. His belief in the project fostered those changes. Due to an increase in his musical activities and familial responsibilities, Andre does not feel that he can give the station the time it deserves to correspond with his love for the project. He’s not leaving, however. His voice will still be heard in old shows, new automated content (always stay tuned), and the occasional live broadcast. TBRN wishes Andre all the best in his chosen endeavors.
We have been preparing for this transfer for a long time. Technical work began last year, allowing it to happen gracefully. On July 4, Andre made the call. The technical handoff was complete at noon Eastern today, July 10.
I’d like to thank Andre personally for believing in my vision of internet radio, giving me the trust to fully manage this project. I strongly believe in both iterating good ideas and innovating on new ones, and we will continue to do so going forward. Derek and I have a strong working relationship, and working with him has been one of the best parts of me being here. We will continue our work to provide you the fun and the quality you’ve come to expect from our content.
Much like I said when I first joined the project, we raise a glass to what has come before us, then raise another glass to what comes ahead. We will continue to be a station of innovative content. We will prove that this venerable medium still provides something new…it is not merely fit for nostalgia. Here’s to TBRN…And as a certain cohost of mine used to say at the end of every pretend camp radio show, “We thank you for tuning in.”
