"Untitled Automation Content"
NOTE:
To Play OGG-Format Streams, you will need an OGG-Capable media player such as WinAmp
Back by popular demand, all Things and Stuff shows from June 19, 2005 through December 31, 2005 are now available in rotation on TBRN's automation, including the Things and Stuff channel, and are available on the Things and Stuff archive page in ogg format. All shows from January 7, 2006 through April 1, 2006 have also been converted to ogg. Yes, I know, all these shows were first generation mp3 pro, and transcoding is bad. In this case, however, including the transcoding, the second generation encoding still sounds better than if you were to listen to the original mp3 pro archives without an mp3 pro decoder, as these files were decoded properly, then encoded to ogg. Now, who among us can distinguish between the mp3 pro and ogg vorbis artifacts within a single archive?
If you already have all these archives in mp3 pro format, you might as well keep them around as they are first generation copies, but if you're as annoyed at mp3 pro as I am, or you want to play these files in a player that doesn't support mp3 pro (most don't), then feel free to take advantage of the latest Things and Stuff offering.
