Pending approval by highest management, I will be taking down the streams to update the "EZStream" component of automation and perform some much-needed optimization of the code base.
Some of the features of this update cycle will be:
- Update EZStream to v0.4 (see http://www.icecast.org/ezstream.php#ez_about)
- Above update will afford FULL OGG MetaData support (making "Untitled Automation Content" MUCH less frequet, hopefully)
- Above update will afford approximately 8 much-needed stability and memory leak fixes
- WARNING: Effective with this update, the only MP3 content that we will be streaming will be on the Music Channel, or available via the ShoutCast relays. All complaints sent to us about this will be blatantly ignored. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT D.Q.R.A. NO LONGER SUPPORTS MP3 INPUT AUDIO, THIS IS MERELY DONE IN AN EFFORT TO OPTIMIZE OUR SERVERS' PERFORMANCE.
If all goes well, this update will commence at 8:00AM US-EDT, and should take no longer than two hours.
